Inner Light Meditation

This year I once again had the honor of holding the opening meditation at the Enjoy the Silence Festival in Italy. I actually wanted to record this meditation for you over a month ago, but my voice wouldn't allow it. Forgive me for still sounding a little choppy.

First, I'd like to share the story behind this meditation with you:

  • As a 15-year-old punk, I often wondered why we humans like to dwell on the unimportant instead of tackling the important. The short answer is a lack of self-acceptance and the internalized belief that we are not relevant.

  • The 20-year-old Dada realized through meditation that things can only change from the inside - never from the outside.

  • At 25, I realized that our attention is a tool; a light that grows what it shines on. At the same time, I saw how much the system-based mechanisms try to direct this attention towards themselves - away from the source, its origin, our inner self.

  • When I went through the dark night of my soul at the age of 30, I received the tool of the golden sphere from Spirit. It would be some time before I realized that this sphere was an egg... and some more time before a dragon hatched from this egg.

As a 36-year-old woman, I meditate twice a day with my inner light, be it in egg or dragon form. Since I have been doing this, my life has changed drastically because I...

  • accept myself (finally) as I am

  • believe that my being on earth is right and important

  • can face my shadows constructively with the help of my inner light

  • can stay with myself even in difficult situations

  • can decide for myself whether I want to put my energy into a situation or would rather pull it out of it

  • can face conflicts without losing the connection to myself

  • consume much less system-based

  • am much less absorbed by external energies throughout the day

Of course, this also has to do with the therapies I have benefited from in recent years. However, the beginning of this journey was clearly this one meditation; the one stone that got everything rolling.

INNER LIGHT MEDITATION QUICK GUIDE

  • Sit or lie down in a quiet place where you feel safe and sheltered

  • Make sure to not be disturbed during the meditation

  • Close your eyes and take three deep breaths; exhale longer than you inhale

  • Feel how all the cells in your body relax bit by bit

  • Focus your attention on the center of your body, at the base of your spine or two to three finger widths below your belly button

  • Visualize (or feel, or speak) the golden sphere or the golden dragon

  • See how the golden light slowly but steadily fills your entire Aura (up to the fingertips of your outstretched arms around you, egg shaped)

  • Feel how wide and deep your inner space is; how much peace and calm there is within you

  • As soon as it fills your whole Aura, breathe deeply into the golden light

  • As soon as you feel ready, let the egg or dragon slowly but steadily shrink again, back to your Hara, back to its cave, its nest, its home

  • Finally, place your left hand (mother) on the front of your Hara and your right hand (father) on the back of your Hara and feel how much support this gives you

  • Breathe in and out deeply once more, then stretch and shake it out

ADDITION

The golden egg and the golden dragon are pretty handy tools:

  • If you don't feel comfortable in a space or energy, pull your light in close (and leave as soon as you can!)

  • If you are shy but feel comfortable in a space or energy, expand your light to the edge of your Aura

  • If you are stressed and the outside gets too loud, go to the loo for 5 minutes and do a short version of this meditation

  • If you are tired and exhausted, meditate and ask your light to strengthen you energetically

  • If you can't sleep and your thoughts are spinning, meditate and ask the light to calm you energetically

  • If you have feelings or thoughts (aka shadows) that you are unable to face, take them into the golden space when your sphere is fully expanded in meditation. At first you will not see any change, but over time the inner phenomena will change with this practice

You will feel the effect in your own bodies, I am sure of it.
